Choosing A Compressor Or Air Delivery System For A Spray Gun

When you are choosing a compressor to use with a paint gun, you need to make sure that the compressor you use does not inhibit the function of your air gun. Unfortunately, choosing a compressor for your paint gun is not always as easy as choosing the paint gun and compressor that come at the lowest price. Instead, you need to choose a compressor that will allow you to get the optimal performance from your spray gun.

Direct or Belt-Driven Compressor

A compressor uses a pump to force air into a holding tank. There are two ways to connect the motor to the pump. In a direct-driven compressor, the motor is coupled directly to the pump. Some of these models do not require lubrication. This means that you have less maintenance concerns and that you don’t have to worry about oil getting atomized in the paint and affecting coverage.

A belt-driven air compressor uses a belt and pulleys to connect the motor to the pump. This allows you to use a multiple stage motor to get greater power while using less electricity. For this reason, belt-driven compressors will typically have a larger tank.

The Size of the Compressor

When you choose a compressor for your air gun, you need to think about how you will use it. If you have a body shop, you probably won’t have to worry about taking your paint gun on the road. Thus, you can have a large, high-capacity, stationary compressor which will allow you to run multiple guns at the same time.

If you are a do-it-yourselfer, buying a smaller compressor will probably work best. A portable compressor will allow you to travel to where your work is needed.

A Compressed-Air Tank

Contractors sometimes have the need to take on painting tasks in places where there is no electricity. In these situations, it is sometimes helpful to have a portable tank that you can take with you to remote locations. While you will not be able to recharge the tank on site, it can still help you to take on jobs that you otherwise could not handle.

Choosing a compressor is a key part of preparing yourself to use a paint gun. Using a spray gun to paint a house can allow you to move quickly while still getting good coverage. If you want to run multiple spray guns on a job, then you should look for either a stationary or portable belt-driven compressor. Otherwise a direct-driven model will probably be sufficient for your needs.

College Graduation Gifts That Make Your Grad Feel Like An Official Adult

College graduation ceremonies don’t include a magical transformation portion that immediately turns all of the 20-something college kids into responsible, career-focused adults. In fact, there’s a good chance that your new graduate still feels like a kid on the inside. As a parent, it’s your job to give your child the extra nudge he needs to start his adult life. So, consider purchasing a graduation gift that makes him feel like he’s officially an adult.

Business Cards

You don’t need to wait until your child secures a job to order business cards. Business cards are essential networking tools. So, consider ordering cards that display your child’s name, phone number, and email address so that he can give a card to any prospective employer that he meets. Also, consider customizing the back of the business cards to include a mini-resume, and don’t forget to purchase a sleek business card case to make the easy to carry.

Personalized Pens

Pens also come in handy when you’re networking with other professionals, so consider giving your child a high-quality, personalized pen to celebrate his college graduation. If your grad plans to work in an office environment, you can purchase a fancy fountain pen set from a retailer like Norfolk Stationery Co,customized to include his name or a short motivational quote to adorn his desk. If your child doesn’t have plans to work in an office, consider purchasing a personalized ballpoint pen instead of a fountain pen set.

Briefcase or Laptop Bag

A nice leather briefcase is a customary gift for recent law school grads, but a briefcase or a professional-style bag can be a great gift for any graduate. To purchase a bag that your child will use on a regular basis, you need to take his career choice and personal style into consideration. If you feel like a briefcase might be a bit over-the-top, opt for a laptop bag or a messenger bag.

Industry or Skill-Related Books

Remember, just because your child graduates from college it doesn’t mean that he’s mastered all of the skills needed to be successful in his career. Help him learn how important continued education is by purchasing a few industry- or skill-related books as a graduation gift. For example, if you child plans to obtain a sales position, consider purchasing books about closing a deal, improving communication skills, or networking.

Graduating from college is a huge accomplishment, but it’s also the beginning of an entirely new journey. Help your child make a smooth transition from his college campus into a professional environment by purchasing a graduation gift that makes him feel like he belongs in the professional world.

I love Italian Food, I grew up with a mother who would make her own pasta and taught me how to cook correctly. My husband Benjamin on the other hand, loves Mexican. While many would argue that Spanish and Italian are similar when it comes to language, when it comes to food it's a whole different story. I like things that he considers “bland” and he likes things I think should be thrown away. Like any couple we decided to start competing to see who made the best food. Our neighbors have not only taken sides, but have encouraged us to start a restaurant for the indecisive couples. I'm learning all about businesses here and popular solutions to problems.
